Riding Lessons at Stone Fox Farm

We offer riding lessons for beginners through advanced riders. Instruction can be either English (Jumping, Dressage) or Western (barrels, pleasure, etc). All riders will learn age and experience appropriate skills such as catching their horse in the pasture, haltering, proper tying techniques, grooming, and saddling skills. The basics are taught in either saddle with a level of proficiency that is required before moving on to specializing in a specific discipline or event. If you are looking for a barn that is trying to get your rider into the show ring the fastest- we are not it. We emphasize safety and good smart horsemanship and proper basics first and foremost. That being said we are a goal oriented program, and we take riding seriously, we want our riders to show improvement over time. Lessons are scheduled by appointment, on your horse or one of our very trained and safe school horses. We provide all of the equipment, including helmets, so riders just need to show up to their scheduled lesson wearing long pants, boots and weather appropriate attire. We can't wait to meet you! We offer one on one lessons for either 30 min (recommended for riders under 7 years old, or riders on a a budget who still want consistency) or 60 min increments. You may pay by the lesson or we offer month packages (Pay at the beginning of the month for the month and get a slight discount!)

Semi-private lessons are also offered for two or more riders that ride at once. These lessons are only offered in 60 min increments and we only offer them in pre-paid month packages. We recommend most riders start out in private lessons so they can get a feel for the routine, the horses and their instructor and then request to be placed in a semi-private lesson If desired. That allows us to group riders with similar goals and abilities.
